Code No. 1878

This choreography takes you from the non-keyboard order setup of Trumpet Tune, allowing you to segue directly from that piece into this one without pause. At the end of this piece, the table is in keyboard order.
If you choose to do this piece by itself (ie. without Trumpet Tune), it should be fairly simple to adapt this choreography for that. Please
contact Michèle if you need any help with that.
Table setup:
When setting up for Trumpet Tune remember to keep G6 and B5 in their home positions & set up the other bells between them. Do not do the optional 8va part. Place the C#6 above the Bb5. Place the D#6 above the Bb6. Remove G#6 from the table, or put it somewhere out of the way - it is not needed for this piece.
You might consider using a duplicate E5 bell to facilitate the stretch in m. 34. Use one E5 in Trumpet Tune and leave the other in home position.
Choreography:
Michèle
plays this so that the last note of Trumpet Tune is the first note of this piece, ritarding into the new tempo over the last few measures.
Start the piece with D6/F6 in your left hand & C6\E6 in your right hand.
m. 1-2: Ring C6 with right hand, return C6 to home position. Form G6\E6 cluster. Ring F6 with left hand, then release it into E6's home position (directly to the left of the F#6), and return D6 to its home position. Ring G6 with right hand, table damp as you ring E6 with the same hand. Set the G6\E6 cluster down intact in the G6's home position. Return F#6 to its home position. |
m. 3-4: Ring F6 with the left hand and return it to the home position, ringing Bb5 with the right hand (no need to do a lh-rh pass). |
m. 5-6: Follow the written choreography, starting this sequence with the right hand. Pick up the E6 from on top of the G6 and damp it in the C6's space, returning it to home position in m.6. Pick up the G5 from its displaced position and return it to its home position after ringing. |
m. 7-9: While ringing D6 with the right hand, form the C6/E6 cluster. Keep D6 as a constant, forming the F6\D6 cluster. Release F6 after ringing it. Release E6 after the first note of m. 8, keeping C6 as a constant to form the C6/G5 cluster. Release G5 into its home position after ringing it. |
m. 10-11: Ring F6 with the right hand, pick up the A6 from its displaced position and return it to its home position after ringing. Keep F6 as a constant, forming the D6\F6 cluster. Pick up the Eb6 from its displaced position and return it to its home position after ringing. After ringing D6, pass it from the rh2 position to the left hand and return the F6 to its home position. |
m. 12-13: Keep the F6 in the right hand as a constant, forming the D6\F6 cluster. Release D6 after ringing. |
m. 14-18: Similar to m. 5-9. |
m. 19-22: Follow the published choreography. |
m. 23-27: Similar to m. 5-9. In m. 23, pick up the C#6 from its displaced position and return it to its home position after ringing. Do pass the D6 lh-rh at the end of m. 27. |
m. 28-30: Ring the G5 with the left hand and the F6 with the right. Immediately after ringing the F6, pick up the G6 with the same hand (G6\F6 cluster)
without damping the F6. Table damp (or use your thumb) the F6 when the G6 rings. Return the G6 to the table after ringing. Keep the F6 in the right hand for the first note of m. 30. |
m. 32-36: Similar to m. 5-9, except in m. 34, pick up the E5 from its displaced position and return it to its home position after ringing
(unless you use a duplicate E5). |
m. 37-45: Same as m. 10-18. |
