Code No. 1618

Table setup:

Table setup is in 2 rows.

First row (closest to ringer):
B5 D6/F6 F#6 G6\E6

Second row (above the first row):
A6 G5 C6 E5

Choreography:

NOTE: D6 & E6 bells are constants throughout the piece.  The rest follows naturally from that, but here it is written out.

(It sounds harder than it actually is! Start practicing this slowly & you'll see that you actually have plenty of time to make all the switches.)

m. 1: release the G6, form C6\E6 cluster; release F6, form D6/G5 cluster
m. 2: release C6, form E5\E6 cluster
m. 3: release E5, form C6\E6 cluster; release G5 after beat 4, form D6/F6 cluster
m. 4: release C6, form G6\E6 cluster
mm. 5 & 6: same as mm. 1 & 2; release G5, form D6/F#6 cluster
m. 7: release C6, form G6\E6 cluster
m. 8: start trill on G6, on the beat; release F#6; release G6

If you play mm. 9-16 as written, simply repeat the above instructions. If you play mm. 9-16 with the optional 8va, you will need to have duplicate E6 & G6 bells, and set them up to the right of your main setup as follows:

First row (closest to ringer):
D7/F7 F#7 G7\E7

Second row (above the first row):
G6 C7 E6

m. 18: form C6\E6 & D6/B5 clusters; release B5, form D6/G5 cluster; release C6, form G6\E6 cluster; release G5, form D6/A6 cluster
m. 19: release A6, form D6/F6 cluster; release F6, form D6/C6 cluster; release C6, form G6\E6 cluster
m. 20: release G6, form C6\E6 cluster; release F6, form D6/G5 cluster
m. 22: release G5, form D6/F6 cluster
m. 23: release C6, form G6\E6 cluster; release G6, form C6\E6 cluster; release F6, form D6/B5 cluster
m. 24: start trill on E6, on the beat
mm. 25-32: same as mm. 17-24, except no need to form D6/B5 cluster at end

Now available: How to segue from this setup directly into Bist Du Bei Mir (If Thou Art Near)!
